SUFFOLK, Va. - Suffolk Police are investigating a two vehicle accident that sent two to the hospital early Monday morning.
Police tell WAVY.com the accident happened at around 6:30 a.m. when a Chevrolet, four door was traveling westbound on Portsmouth Blvd. The vehicle crossed the median into the eastbound lanes and was struck by an eastbound Ford pick-up truck. The Chevrolet spun into a tree.
The female driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 30-year-old Julie Doudiken, was transported to Sentara Norfolk Hospital. Police say she suffered from life threatening injuries and is listed in critical condition.
The driver of the pick-up truck, 48-year-old Michael Smith, was taken to Sentara Obici Hospital where he was treated and released.
Police are continuing to investigate the accident.
