Norfolk, Va. -
Eleven years years after the body of Michelle Moore-Bosko was found inside her Ocean View apartment on July 8 1997, only one thing remains undisputed.

She was raped and murdered.

Stabbed and strangled.

The circumstances of who and why are still in dispute.  In the ensuing investigation, police looked at many different suspects, and obtained confessions from five men.

Daniel Williams confessed to rape and murder. So did Joseph Dick.  And Derek Tice.  Eric Williams confessed to rape.  Police say the confessions were too detailed to be false.  But lawyers for the three sailors say detectives forced them to confess.

Three years ago, they asked then Governor Mark Warner for clemency.  Lawyers say the only DNA evidence found at the scene was from another man: Omar Ballard.  Ballard confessed as well and to this day says he acted alone.

Now three years after the petition for clemency, lawyers for the men are at work again, this time bringing in former FBI agents who conducted a review of the case.  The lawyers - and the men behind bars for life - hope this review will convince prosecutors to re-open the case and, once again, weigh physical evidence at the scene against recorded confessions afterwards.

Williams is the only one of the so-called "Norfolk Four" to be released from prison after serving eight and a half years for rape.  He is now working to clear his name of any wrongdoing in the case.
