NORFOLK, Va. - A viewer, who got tired of smelling trash and looking at an overflowing dumpster contacted 10 On Your Side for help. We took action and brought the Norfolk resident some relief.

Gregory Snipes said he couldn't get his landlord to empty the trash dumpster outside his window.

Snipes was upset because he's up to date on his rent and just wants the trash emptied.

"When the wind blows it smells. It's not a nice smell," said Snipes, who claims the trash has been overflowing for three weeks. Snipes lives in an apartment complex on E. Little Creek Road owned by C.N. Budd Properties in Portsmouth.

According to Bay Disposal, the apartment owners, Chester and Ora Budd, have failed to pay their bill since January.

"I don't understand. We pay rent. Everyone here pays his rent and on time, and dumping that dumpster is his responsibility," Snipes added.

Owner Ora Budd told 10 On Your Side, "This was caused by an oversight in the office. We have fixed the problem." While on the phone, Budd called Bay Disposal, and both sides came up with a payment plan which satisfied Bay Disposal.

Soon after our phone call, the big Bay Disposal dump truck made it's way to the dumpster, generating cheers all around. The truck lifted the dumpster and emptied the overflow of trash.

"Great, great, great...," shouted Snipes as the trash fell into the truck.

A big thanks to Bay Disposal who dumped the trash on the promise that the Budd's would pay their bill.
