New manufacturing facility coming to NN

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - A new manufacturing and engineering facility will be coming to Newport News, Va.

AREVA Newport News LLC and Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding will break ground and join forces to build the 330,000-square-foot manufacturing facility to build heavy components for new nuclear plants, a $360 million investment that they say will create more than 500 jobs in Hampton Roads.

AREVA is one of the leading U.S. nuclear vendors and a key player in the electricity transmission and distribution sector.

AREVA employs 6,000 people nationwide.
