NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - A fourth member of the "Dump Squad" - a gang which operated in the Ridley Circle, Harbor Homes and Dickerson Court areas of Newport News - was sentenced Tuesday in a federal court.

Rickey Rice, 28, of Newport News was sentenced to 30 years in prison for his role in the gang.

Court documents show members of the "Dump Squad" used intimidation, violence, and threats of violence in committing criminal actions, including the murders of Terrell Williams, Tiarra Campbell, and Tony Vaughan.

In early September three other members were sentenced for their involvement with the gang. Twan Bugg, 23, Samuel Bates, 27, and Ty Davis, 25, received sentences ranging from 25 to 30 years in prison. All three defendants pleaded guilty in April to their participation in a conspiracy to engage in racketeering activity. Davis, Bugg and Bates pled guilty to additional charges.

Federal, state and local law enforcement agencies assisted in the investigation into the gang.
