Fmr. officer sentenced for false report

NORFOLK, Va. - One of three Norfolk police officers charged in December was sentenced on Friday in Norfolk Circuit Court.

Gregory W. Dudley plead guilty in court to one count of misdemeanor False Report/Statement/Summoning Police. He will serve two years unsupervised probation and will pay a $250 fine.

Dudley resigned from the Police Department in October 2008. He had been on the department for two years.

Officer Robert A. Jacobs was also indicted in December on one misdemeanor offense of Obstruction of Justice. And Officer Andrew T. Wenzel was indicted on two felony offenses of Perjury and one misdemeanor offense of False Report to Police.
