PORTSMOUTH, Va. - To entend the life of your vehicle, car care experts say it's important to keep up with routine maintenance.

Make sure you get the oil changed in your car every 3,000 miles or every three months.  Failure to do so could give you engine problems.

Next, make sure you have an anti-freeze and water mixture in your cooling systems.

Also, don't forget to top off your vehicle's fluids: washer, power steering, and brake fluids.

Kyle Loftus with AAA Tidewater told WAVY.com, "A vehicle that's well maintained is probably going to get more than 200,000 miles. People who don't change their oil sometimes break down before 100,000 miles."

Another important reminder: check your tire pressure, especially during the wild swings in weather we'll be seeing over the next few days.  Doing so will get you better gas mileage.
