ELIZABETH CITY, NC - On November 11, 2008 the Elizabeth City Police Department Investigative Division arrested five members of a street gang that was later identified as the "West Side Piru Bloods."
The suspects were arrested following a shooting on South Dyer Street.
Investigators were able to determine that the "West Side Piru Blood" street gang members were involved in a string of Felony Breaking and Enterings, Felony Larcenies, and a Common Law Robbery dating back to the early summer months, 2008.
Sixty warrants in total have been obtained for the crimes committed by these gang members.
In addition, several felony juvenile petitions will be sought for several juvenile suspects that have been identified as perpetrators.
The following suspects have been charged with various felony and misdemeanor warrants for crimes ranging from Felony Breaking and Entering, Felony Larceny, Assault with Deadly Weapon, and Common Law Robbery. The investigation is continuing and further charges are imminent.
Jeffrey Donnell Armstrong, B/M, age 16 of 911 McPherson Street (City) - 4 counts of Felony B&E, 4 counts of Felony Larceny, 4 counts of Possession of Stolen Goods, and 1 count of Common Law Robbery,
Christopher Jamaal Williams, B/M, age 18 of 201 West Cypress Street (City) - 4 counts of Felony B&E, 4 counts of Felony Larceny, 4 counts of Possession of Stolen Goods and 1 count of Common Law Robbery
Rashawn Darrell Hampton, B/M, age 20 of 503 Factory Street (City) - 2 counts of Felony B&E, 2 counts of Felony Larceny, and 2 counts of Possession of Stolen Goods
Ansoro Mandell Spence, B/M, age 18 of 503 West Cypress Street (City) - 5 counts of Felony B&E, 5 counts of Felony Larceny, and 5 counts of Possession of Stolen Goods
Javon Tyelle Hopson, B/M, age 16 of 700 Parsonage Street (City) - 1 count of Common Law Robbery
Quayshawn L'Quan Banks, B/M, age 17 of 514 Roanoke Avenue (City) - 1 count of Felony B&E, 1 count of Felony Larceny, and 1 count of Possession of Stolen Goods
