CHESAPEAKE, Va. - Chesapeake police say a Navy man was killed in a motorcylce crash Tuesday night in the 4000 block of Holly Cove Drive.

Police spokesperson Dorienne Boykin tells WAVY.com two motorcycles were speeding when they wrecked along the roadway. One of the motorcyclists struck a telephone poll and knocked it down.

One of the drivers, identified as 26-year-old Clifton Heard, of Winterville, Georgia died at the scene. There is no word on the other driver's condition.

"They was racing and what not and a burgundy Expedition had came in the way and so one of them tried to swerve and hit the light pole, which you can see, and the other one just slid," one witness told WAVY.com.
