Attempted bank robbery in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH, Va. - Portsmouth Police are investigating an attempted bank robbery that occurred at the BB&T on Portsmouth Blvd.

According to Jan Westerbeck of the Portsmouth Police, a man entered the bank and handed a note to the teller demanding money. Westerbeck says the clerks told the suspect they did not have money. The suspect then walked out of the bank and crossed Portsmouth Blvd.

There were no injuries reported.
