Norfolk, VA - Norfolk's newest mermaid statue, made out of stainless steel, was dedicated at the park's private soft opening reception on July 2.  An artist in Denver created the 12 foot shiny sculpture and crews moved it to Norfolk in June.

The mermaid sits in the fountain between Nauticus and the Half Moone Cruise Terminal.  In a special unveiling announcement, Mayor Paul Fraim said the mermaid is named after longtime  Norfolk Festevents director, Karen Scherberger.
