HAMPTON, Va. - The Downtown Hampton Development Partnership Public Space Improvement Committee is now offering Operation Facelift to all Downtown Hampton property and businesses owners. This grant program is designed to provide assistance to property and business owners for exterior façade improvements such as new signage, landscaping and repair.

Operation Facelift is an exterior improvement reimbursement program that is administered by the Downtown Hampton Development Partnership and reviewed by the Public Space Improvement Committee. The committee will consider funding to assist in the buy-down costs for property and business owners. If approved the Downtown Hampton Development Partnership will reimburse $.50 for every dollar the property owner spends on exterior projects outlined in the grant program up to a maximum of $2,000.

The improvements must enhance the curb appeal and should also conform to the vision set forth in the Downtown Hampton Master Plan. Eligible projects include architectural improvements that improve the appearance of the street facades and entry features of the building and/or landscape improvements that enhance the appearance of the property.

The program was approved and funded beginning July 1, 2009 and will be replenished on a fiscal year basis. Property owners will be considered on a first come first served basis.
Incentives will be provided until the funds are depleted.

All properties are eligible within the Business Improvement District that are current on BID tax payments. Property and business owners must complete an application located at the Downtown Hampton Development Partnership office to be considered. The Public Space Improvement Committee will review the application and have final approval.
