NORFOLK, Va. - More than 10,000 Cox Cable customers were without cable, high-speed internet and phone service after a fiber optic line was accidentally cut in Norfolk Monday. The cable line was cut during Light Rail construction.

Felicia Blow, spokesperson for Cox Cable, told WAVY.com that a third party contractor accidentally cut the cable line Monday afternoon. At the time, Light Rail construction was taking place in the vicinity of Boush Street and Bute Street.

The outages only affected subscribers in Norfolk.
