NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Whitney Houston's music touched many lives around the world and locally.
Norfolk's Movin' FM107.7 plays her music regularly.
On Sunday morning, Movin's DJ Kevin Kennedy sat down with WAVY.com to talk about Whitney's impact on the music industry.
"She's really a big part of music history, too," Kennedy said. "She's paved the way. She was the first female artist to have an album debut at number one. She was the first artist ever to have seven number one consecutive debuts on the charts and she really paved the way for a lot of female artists."
Kennedy said Movin' 107.7 plans to have a Whitney tribute show Monday morning - playing her hits, taking listener requests, and chatting with listeners over the phone about their favorite memories of the singer.
