NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Light rail service in downtown Norfolk resumed full service Sunday morning after the installation of a new section of track was completed.
A spokesman for Hampton Roads Transit told WAVY.com regular light rail service between the Newtown Road station and EVMC/FT. Norfolk station resumed at 11 a.m.
HRT suspended regular light rail service downtown Friday to install a new section of track near the 400 block of West York Street, east of the Smith Creek Bridge.
The section of track, called a crossover switch, will allow HRT to cross light rail trains from one track to another, according to HRT officials.
