PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - Kids across Hampton Roads are a little bit warmer, thanks to hundreds of 10 On Your Side viewers.

Every winter, WAVY News helps children stay warm with the annual Coats for Kids program.

Saturday was the last day families could pick up one coat for each child.

10 On Your Side, with help from organizations like Langley Federal Credit Union, handed out coats at the Hampton YMCA on LaSalle Avenue on Saturday morning.

"Lots of smiles, lots of happy people. We've had a mild winter so far. We've been lucky, but cold weather could be on the way and these coats come in handy for a lot of people," said Brett Noll with Langley Federal Credit Union.

WAVY TV 10 and sister station Fox 43 News proudly sponsored the Coats for Kids program.
