Police: Teen shut in closet, assaulted

JAMES CITY COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - James City County Police tell WAVY.com a man is facing sex assault charges after an alleged incident involving a friend at his home in the 3200 blk. of Chickahominy Road.
According to a police spokesperson, 18-year-old Adam Grimes sexually assaulted a friend after the two began wrestling. The wrestling match allegedly escalated into something more physical, police said. When the female tried to leave, police say Grimes wouldn't let her go and locked her in a closet.
After being in the closet for a short time, police say Grimes let the girl out of the closet where he then threw her to the floor and sexually assaulted her.
Grimes has been charged with rape and abduction. He's being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail.
