PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) - A Portsmouth woman's service dog was returned to her Wednesday.

Paula Ramsey's Shih Tzu/Pekingese mix named Mogwai disappeared from her front yard off Porter Road last Friday. WAVY.com spoke to Ramsey Tuesday, and the dog was returned to her the next day.

Ramsey said Mogwai was a vital in helping her stay healthy.

"My disability is multiple sclerosis and I have severe fibromyalgia," Ramsey said. "My joints will lock up and twist up to where I can't walk and she lets me know. At that point, I have to give myself shots. So she can feel it before I can feel it coming on to save me from going through that agony and everything."

Ramsey told WAVY.com her son met a man and woman at Maryview Hospital to pick up the dog Wednesday afternoon. She said the perpetrators did not want to meet her in person because they were scared police would be on scene.

Ramsey said without 10 On Your Side, she would not have gotten her dog back.
