HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - A 23-year-old Hampton woman reported missing on Jan. 11 has been found safe in another state, according to police.
Yukana Lashan Humbert was last seen by a family member at the Cedar Grove bus stop in Norfolk off Monticello Avenue. Her family says she was on her way to pick up her children from their grandmother's house last Friday but never showed up.
"It's hard dealing with the kids. They're constantly wondering where she is. They're small children and she's never been away from them," her mother Linda Humbert said.
Linda Humbert told WAVY.com she talked with her daughter all the time and not knowing where she is now is puzzling.
"Since she was 15 I've talked to her every day," Linda Humbert said. "Even if she's wrong and she knows, I'm going to lay her out and she'll call me."
On Sunday, Yukana Humbert's family received a voicemail from someone who sounded very much like her, telling them not to worry.
The family said they expected to see Yukana Monday after receiving that message, but are still waiting patiently for her to come home.
Yukana Humbert has a tattoo on her left arm that reads "Kwame" and one on her left wrist that reads "Connie."
