HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - One Hampton resident is asking the City questions about several trees that have fallen on his home during severe weather.
John Lynch doesn't mind trees. It's just that they keep landing on his house.
"Isabel we had about nine trees that fell here," Lynch told WAVY.com.
After surviving Isabel, Lynch says he asked the City of Hampton for help and the City told him it doesn't take down healthy trees. Friday during the tornado, two more trees came down.
"Someone could have got killed those trees could have come inside the house, those are bedrooms up top," said Lynch.
10 On Your Side took Lynch's question to the City.
Within an hour, Director of Parks and Recreation Jim Wilson arrived.
"If the trees create a hazard they're diseased or they're dead then we'll remove them, but I can't speak on what happened eight years ago," said Wilson.
Wilson said if these now tornado damaged trees belong to the City they will remove them.
After two brushes with disaster, Lynch wants the City to take all of its trees down.
"That's just common sense if it's a soft tree and easily breaks in the high wind it's a hazard clearly," said Lynch.
Wilson said the City would be back out Wednesday to take a look at it and see what it could do.
