HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Hampton police are looking for another suspect from Tuesday's Walmart shooting .
Surveillance footage from the store shows the image of a man police believe was also involved in the shooting.
Police arrested the second suspect after he barricaded himself in a Best Western hotel room in Hampton. Officers also took another individual, who was inside the suspect's room, into custody for questioning.
Police received information around 2:15 a.m. that the suspect, David Lamar Andrews, 27, of Hampton, was staying in one of the rooms at the Best Western, located in the 1800 block of West Mercury Boulevard, police spokesman Jason Price said.
Police determined Andrews' identity by his car, a Dodge Charger, which was towed from the scene.
Officers cleared the hotel and the area around the suspect's room on Wednesday morning. The SWAT and Crisis Negotiation Teams ( CNT) also responded to the scene.
Members of CNT made contact with Andrews and after three hours of negotiating his surrender, Andrews and the other occupant of the room, a 23-year-old man, were taken into custody without incident.
Police said Andrews and the man knew each other and he was in the room voluntarily. No charges have been placed against the 23-year-old at this time. Police said they were both transported to Investigations to be interviewed.
Andrews had active warrants on file for one count of maiming, one count of robbery, two counts of use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. These charges stemmed from two separate incidents that occurred in Hampton earlier in the month.
On Tuesday around 5:20 p.m., Hampton police said a shootout occurred between two men at the Walmart store located on Mercury Boulevard and Cunningham Drive.
Officers searched the area for a possible victim but no one was found.
About an hour later, one of the suspects was located on Skelton Way in Newport News with gunshot wounds and transported to the hospital. Price said he is currently listed in stable and good condition.
