HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - The public is invited to attend two meetings at the end of the month to voice their ideas about what should become of Fort Monroe.

After the Army abandoned the historic post and its surrounding property, the Fort Monroe Authority took over. A part of the 325-acre site has become a national monument managed by the National Park Service.

The meetings will be held at 6 p.m. Sept. 27 and 9:30 a.m. Sept. 28 at the Bay Breeze Conference Center at Fort Monroe.
