Hampton woman finds grenade in home

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - A Hampton woman found a grenade at her home and took it to a fire station Tuesday evening.

Officials told WAVY.com the hand grenade was taken to a fire station in the 1300 block of Big Bethel Road where firefighters called the Langley AFB Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.

The team determined the item was an inactive training grenade. No one was injured.

Monday evening, a Norfolk woman found an inactive grenade on the street and contacted police fearing it may be active.
