HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Hampton firefighters battled a house fire in the 800 block of Headrow Terrace that displaced two adults and three children.

Crews were called to fight the fire at the single story home off Northampton Drive shortly after 3 p.m. Monday and had the fire under control within 15 minutes.

Officials say the fire damaged the attic and two rooms of the home. The family was not home during the fire, which investigators say started in the family's clothes dryer.

The damage to the home is estimated to be approximately $45,000.
