HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Police say a Crime Line tip led to the arrest of a man wanted for the shooting death of a Hampton teen.
According to Sgt. Jason Price with the Hampton Police Division, officers were patrolling the 2000 block of Seldendale Drive Dec. 1 when they heard shots fired just before 1:45 a.m . They then located 19-year-old Bartholomew Kyle Robinson of Hampton suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso.
Price said Robinson was sitting with a 19-year-old female inside a 2008 Dodge Caliber when he was approached by three men.
Following a verbal altercation, one of the men took out a handgun and shot Robinson. Price said the incident appears to be drug-related and before the three men took off, they stole money and personal items from Robinson and the woman with him.
Tyreek Braxton of Hampton was arrested Feb. 5 on charges of murder, robbery, abduction and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Last year, 19-year-old Lequis Williams was arrested and charged with one count of murder, two counts of robbery, two counts of abduction and three counts of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
There is no information about the third suspect at this time.
Anyone with information on Braxton's location or the shooting is asked to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
