Head-on accident sends 2 to hospital

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Hampton Fire and Rescue responded to an accident at 2921 North Armistead Avenue involving a tractor trailer on Thursday evening.

According to Lt. D. Scalese with Hampton Fire and Rescue, there was fire and entrapment involved in the accident.

Sgt. Price with Hampton Police said the accident happened at 6 p.m. when a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu crossed the median and hit a U.S. Postal Service tractor trailer head-on.

Price says both drivers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No charges have been filed and the accident remains under investigation.
