HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Hampton Police have identified a 20-year-old man who was killed when the vehicle he was driving ran off the roadway and struck a tree Monday.
Cpl. Mary Shackelford with the Hampton Police Division told WAVY.com the collision occurred in the area of Lasalle Avenue and Mercury Boulevard when a single vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree around 10:30 a.m.
The male driver and only occupant of the 1998 Mercedes was killed, Shackelford said. He has been identified as Ryan Patrick Hudson, 20, of Hampton.
Police closed both northbound lanes of Lasalle Avenue northbound and one southbound lane of Lasalle Avenue as units worked the scene.
