HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Hampton Animal Control is trying to track down the dog that bit a one-year-old child at Gosnold's Hope Park.

The child was near the woods near the camping area at around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 9 at the time of the attack.

The dog is a mixed-breed, around two feet all, with short gray hair. It was not wearing a collar and there was no owner with it.

The child was not seriously hurt, but Animal Control needs to quarantine the dog and monitor it for rabies.

Animal Control wants to make it known that the dog will not be harmed.

If you see the dog, call 727-6111.
