HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) - Hampton University will have a very special speaker at this year's commencement -- President Barack Obama. If you're interested in getting your hands on tickets, the University announced Monday that it will make 1,000 tickets available to the general public.
Hampton University Commencement will be held on May 9 at 10 a.m. in Armstrong Stadium. All graduates and guests more than age two must have a ticket.
Graduating students will be issued eight tickets for the ceremony -- one for the graduate and seven for guests.
According to Hampton University officials, public tickets will only be available for the Armstrong Stadium site. If you'd like tickets to Hampton's commencement you may apply online at commencement.hamptonu.edu beginning April 19, at 8 a.m.
