Girl gives iPad to child with autism

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A 12-year-old Virginia Beach girl won a mini iPad but decided not to keep it for herself.

Instead, Alayna Stormer gave it to her foster sister's 5-year-old son Kyle, who has autism.

"iPads can help with autism a lot because there are lots of apps that can help keep them focused," Stormer said.

The contest, sponsored by Stormer's orthodontist's office, required her to start a Facebook page and get the most likes.

"I'm sure it was something she had thought about keeping for her[self] but for her to give it to someone else is very nice," said Paula Whitehurst with Klar Voorhees Orthodontics.

Whitehurst said the office was so impressed with Stormer's generosity, they gave her an iPad to keep for herself.
