Ft. Bragg Change of Command held

FORT BRAGG, N.C. (WAVY) - A Hampton native took reigns of the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade at a Change of Command Ceremony Thursday at Fort Bragg.

Col. Michael Musiol replaced Col. T.J. Jamison, and is set to "reshape a conventional unit to a rapidly-deployable aviation asset," able to respond worldwide with little notice.

The brigade was most recently deployed to Afghanistan from September 2011 through September 2012.

"This brigade is outstanding," Jamison said. "I am honored not just to have commanded these paratroopers but to have been a part of this unit. These soldiers flew more hours during this rotation than any other aviation brigade in this fight and I am proud of the job they have done."

Musiol attended West Point and served in Afghanistan with Task Force Viper from November 2009 through November 2012.
