FRANKLIN, Va. (WAVY) - A spokesman for International Paper in Franklin told WAVY.com the mill will close April 15.

Officials say the majority of workers will continue working at the mill from April 15 through June 30. Others will stay past June to secure equipment.

The company announced in October it would close the mill by the end of spring. At the time, 1,100 people worked there and four machines operated.

Eight hundred people and two machines are still in use since the company officially announced it would close.
