NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) - Two former Blackwater contractors charged in the shooting deaths of two Afghans were back in Norfolk Federal Court Friday for a motions hearing.
Justin Cannon and Christopher Drotleff say they were justified in shooting the two Afghan men in Kabul last year.
Judge Doumar denied motions to move Cannon's trial to Corpus Christi Texas and denied a motion to dismiss the case on lack of jurisdiction. Judge Doumar also said he will consider evidence that the two men were allegedly drinking the day of the shooting and took vehicles off base without permission.
The trial by jury is scheduled for September.
