NORFOLK, Va. - Spartan Village residents will soon get some relief after the powerful nor'easter that blew through the region in November.
Norfolk Vice Mayor Anthony Burfoot will announce Friday that a federal grant has been approved for the residents who have suffered so much. For some, their entire home flooded. Flood waters also ruined furniture and appliances, and even damaged or destroyed cars.
The grant is being provided by STOP, the Southeastern Tidewater Opportunity Project. STOP has targeted two other low income communities in Norfolk for the program. The names of those communities will be announced at a later date.
Vice Mayor Anthony Burfoot will announce the approved grant Friday night at 6 p.m. Stay with WAVY.com and WAVY News 10 for more on his announcement.
