KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. (WAVY) - Fire destroyed an unoccupied rental home Sunday afternoon.
A spokesman for the Kill Devil Hills Fire Department said crews responded to the fire in the 1300 block of S. Memorial Boulevard at 2:18 p.m.
Firefighters arrived three minutes later to find the single-family rental fully involved in flames.
The spokesman said the fire destroyed the home, however, crews were able to save the surrounding houses.
The Kill Devil Hills Fire Department was assisted by fire departments from Nags Head, Colington, Southern Shores and Kitty Hawk. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
