WASHINGTON, D.C. (WAVY) - Virginia Senator Mark Warner honored members of the Virginia Beach and Fairfax Search & Rescue Teams for their recent mission in Haiti.
The teams rescued 19 survivors in the days immediately following the January 2010 Haiti earthquake.
During the Capitol Hill ceremony on Friday, March 5., Sen. Warner thanked the teams for their service, then presented them with a framed copy of his remarks.
One of the people they saved during the mission was present for the reception.
