Farm Fresh president retires

Effective March 5

HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) - Farm Fresh president Ron Dennis has announced his retirement, effective Friday, March 5, according to SUPERVALU, Farm Fresh's parent company.

SUPERVALU senior vice president Brian Huff thanked Dennis for his years aof services and wished him the best in a news release Monday. Huff said, "Under Ron's leadership, Farm Fresh has built a rich tradition of extraordinary customer service and community support. By continuing to focus on these hallmarks, we look forward to Farm Fresh's continued success."

Dennis' successor will be announced at a later date, according to the release. For now, Huff will assume Dennis' responsibilities. All operations and business strategies will continue as normal.

Dennis had been with the company for 52 years. His first position with the company was meat cutter apprentice. From there, Dennis successfully took on roles of increasing responsibility leading to his presidency in 1997.

"While I am proud of the many successes we have achieved at Farm Fresh during my tenure, I am looking forward to retiring and spending more time with my family," said Dennis. "I will miss working with the many talented people at Farm Fresh and wish the team the very best as they continue to grow the business."
