RICHMOND, Va. (WAVY) - The Dominion Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Dominion Resources, Inc., donated $75,000 to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to help families affected by the April 16 tornadoes.
Dominion made a $50,000 donation to the American Red Cross to benefit Gloucester, Middlesex, and Isle of Wight counties and the city of Williamsburg, and a $25,000 donation to the chapter in Bertie County, N.C., a news release from Dominion Resources Inc. said.
“In this time of need, we want to provide a helping hand to the communities, families, friends and neighbors whose lives were changed forever by the destruction the tornadoes left behind,” said Rodney Blevins, Dominion’s vice president of Distribution Operations. “The families and business owners in these counties are our friends and neighbors as well as our customers. We want to be there for them in this difficult time.”
The contributions will provide emergency services such as food, clothing, shelter, counseling, and other assistance to people affected by the storms.
