CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Firefighters responding to a house fire call in Chesapeake Thursday afternoon arrived to find heavy damage to the back of the 2-story home, Capt. Sam Gulisano told WAVY.com.

Several dozen firefighters on scene quickly put out the fire at the home in the 2200 block of Tennessee Drive.

Capt. Gulisano said there are no reported injuries. Fortunately, a Sheriff's Deputy was on the scene before the firefighters even arrived. He went inside the home and pulled a dog out of the burning home.

Investigators say at this point, it appears the fire was accidental.
