CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Now is a good time to clean out your medicine drawers.
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is working with state and local law enforcement agencies to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from homes.
This national prescription drug take-back initiative will provide a unified opportunity for the public to get rid of pharmaceutically dispensed controlled substances and other medications to officers for destruction.
Collections in Chesapeake will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at several police precincts between 10 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Intravenous/injectable solutions or syringes will not be accepted due to potential hazards posed by blood-borne pathogens. Illicit substances such as marijuana or methamphetamine are not part of this initiate. This service is free and anonymous. No questions asked.
