HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (WAVY) - Chopper 10 flew over Hampton Roads Sunday and captured the breathtaking snow blanketing the area, as well as the drivers who had trouble maneuvering through it.

By the light of the moon plows worked their way through city streets. Chopper 10 still found vehicles forging their own; off the road.

Through the darkness Chopper 10 captured the first rays of dawn piercing through the dark clouds. The USS George H.W Bush's flight deck was covered in snow.

Daylight revealed an extraordinary glimpse of the blanket of white covering the region. From high in the sky, neighborhoods and cities blended from one into the other.

From Mercury Boulevard on the Peninsula to Norfolk's Oceanview on the Southside, cars moved slowly in the morning light.

In Virginia Beach, Chopper 10 captured undisturbed snowy backyards.
