CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A World War II plane was forced to land in a Chesapeake soy bean field Wednesday afternoon.

The plane experienced mechanical problems just before noon, according to Chesapeake Fire Captain Mike Thibeault.

The plane landed safely in a field on Head of River Road.

No one was hurt and the plane was not damaged, Thibeault said.
