CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A Chesapeake woman was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Thursday evening after falling into a hole in the 1300 block of Stewart Street in South Norfolk.

According to Capt. Scott Saunders with the Chesapeake Fire Department, crews were dispatched to a report of a female in her 40s who was lying at the bottom of a hole about six or seven feet deep.

The woman was taken to a hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Further information as to how the woman fell in the hole was not immediately released.
