CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Three people have been displaced after a fire ripped through a Chesapeake home Monday evening.
Capt. Scott Saunders with the Chesapeake Fire Department said firefighters were dispatched to the 1300 block of Monarch Reach just after 6 p.m. for a report of a structure fire. Upon arrival, crews found heavy fire coming from a garage.
Crews were able to get the fire under control by 7:45 p.m., however, the home suffered extensive damage and three adults have been displaced. No one was injured in the fire and all occupants got out safely thanks to working smoke detectors.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
