CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Four teens now face gang-related charges for the attack of a former NFL player in Chesapeake.
On Tuesday, a grand jury indicted Jalen Riddick, 17, Tyhir Richardson, 15, James Richardson-Jackson, 16, and Joseph Morgan, 16 on charges of recruiting for a gang and participation in a crime with a gang in a school zone.
The three already face charges of malicious assault and malicious wounding by a mob.
Police said 71-year-old Ed Beard was riding his bike when he saw the teens beating someone up.
When he tried to stop the fight, police said they attacked him.
The gang charges stem from the first fight that he tried to break up.
All four will be tried as adults.
