CHESAPEAKE, V.a. (WAVY) - Chesapeake police are still searching for two suspects in a bold attempted robbery of a local bar.

Police say Raymond Davis, 22, of Norfolk, and two other men tried to rob Rogers Sport's Pub on Bainbridge Boulevard in Chesapeake Friday night.

There is a surveillance video of the entire attack, but police will not release it, as it is part of a criminal investigation. Police also have a 911 call made by a bar patron from the bathroom at the time of the robbery attempt.

Witnesses told WAVY.com one of the patrons in the bar shot and killed Davis during the attempted robbery. It's the same story detectives told grandmother Shelia Davis.

A man, known as "Big Rob", chased the first robbery suspect out of the bar. It appears while he was in the parking lot, he went to his car and grabbed his gun. Big Rob then re-entered the bar and shot Davis.

"The man went outside and came back in with his gun and shot him down," Shelia said. "It's like shooting a dog down. He is a human being."

After Big Rob shot Raymond Davis, the third robber emerged from the kitchen area in the back and started firing his gun.

"Another guy ran in the back and they were having a shoot off," Steve Perry, who was next to Davis when Davis was killed, said. The third robber did not hit anyone with his gunfire and fled from the bar.

Police won't say if the person who shot Davis could possibly face charges.

Detectives believe Davis' co-conspirators fled the area in a Ford Taurus that was possibly light blue in color.
