Man walking down street shot in the leg

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A man walking down a South Norfolk street early Sunday morning was shot in the leg by an unknown person, according  to police.

Chesapeake police say a man was walking in the 2000 block of Linster Street just after midnight when he heard a gunshot, then felt a pain in his leg.

Medics transported the man to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment. He is expected to recover.

Due to the circumstances surrounding the shooting, police do not have any information on a possible suspect.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the shooting to call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
