CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - According to the Virginia Lottery, a Chesapeake accountant won $1 million in a Maximum Millions scratcher game.
Randy Latham is the game's 12th million-dollar winner with a ticket he bought at a Chesapeake 7-Eleven on Battlefield Boulevard.
When Latham won, he told the Virginia Lottery he stayed pretty calm despite the big payout.
“I’m just going to put this in my pocket and go home to talk to my wife,” Latham said.
Latham chose a one-time cash option worth more than $500,000 before taxes and the 7-Eleven where he bought the winning ticket received a $10,000 bonus.
