CHESPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - A two vehicle accident on Battlefield Boulevard near Hanbury Road in Chesapeake left one occupant dead and another injured.
Police said 58-year-old Theodore Cherry, of the 100 block of Dolphin Street in Moyock, N.C., was killed when the car he was driving was hit head on by an SUV.
The crash happened a little after 5 p.m. Monday.
The SUV was traveling northbound on Battlefield Boulevard when it crossed over into the southbound lane colliding with the four door sedan Cherry was driving.
A female victim also in the car with Cherry was airlifted to the hospital by Nightingale. Her condition is not known at this time.
The two people in the SUV were not injured.
It is not known whether alcohol or speed were a factor in the crash.
