CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) - Deputies from the Chesapeake Sheriff's Office distributed dozens of food baskets to needy families Wednesday.
Sheriff Jim O'Sullivan and deputies delivered the baskets with the help of Wal-Mart.
"It means the world to me because I am so glad that people in this world still love to help the needy," said Marie Dearing of Chesapeake.
The sheriff's office handed out 100 baskets.
"It means so much to us [too]," O'Sullivan said. "We deal with so many negative things in the sheriff's office. Days like today truly make it special and make me proud to be the sheriff of Chesapeake."
This was the 25th year for the program.
